Picnicking at Fitzroy Gardens ||MaddyBeautyLove

Dress by Revival
Last weekend there was finally a break to Melbourne's autumn like weather, and mother nature granted us with a beautiful 26 degree day. It was perfect picnic weather! At least at first.

In my new dress attire (found in Myer's Basement for a margin!), new boots and a unfrequented up-do, I joined my parents on an picnic outing to Fitzroy Gardens.

As an extra accessory I took my guitar along too! With my gorgeous daisy guitar strap I felt very June Carter-esque!

Off to Fitzroy Gardens we go!
My Dad couldn't help spring his iPhone on me either!

Cue the embarrassed daughter smile.

To walk off the food we consumed, we headed for the centre of the garden where we found Conservatory, a green house-type-thing in the heart of the garden, it housed hydrangeas and Patience (yes, my Dad could not resist a very Dad joke!).
Can you see the dark clouds rolling in?
So enchanting!

I can see this being the perfect place for wedding photographs! All the vibrant colours contrasting with the flawless white statues. It makes me desire in exploring much more of Melbourne's gardens in hope of discovering more places like this.

There's nothing I adore more than gorgeous wooden bridges.

These boots are made for walkin'..... that's why they're so comfy!
Then suddenly the clouds rolled in and our lovely day out was cut short! But there were laughs still as we sprinted back to our car and made our way home. All in all, it was a peaceful day out with the 'rents!

I hope you're staying cool in the hot Australian weather!

The Monet Experience - A Night Out

How cute is the invite!
You know those nights you have with someone that you never really get to see? Well in the hustle and bustle of my life my, sadly, Dad is one of those. I’m always in my room trying to “study” (or really watching youtube videos) and I feel that I can’t relax with family members around me as I have so much to do (like find new youtubers…) so when my Dad mentioned that his work was having a work function at the Monet exhibition at the NGV I jumped out of my skin at the chance!

How delicate and gorgeous was the invitation?! Dad let me keep it for my non-glory-glory-box! The little ticket’s too were pretty gorgeous!

I unfortunately wasn’t able to take any photos there, but as it was a cocktail party everyone was dressed so suave and gorgeously! So all the limited photo's I do have are shifty ones on my phone.

What a tag-dag!
I wore my Angel Biba dress, it's one that I’ve had for about 3 or so years now and I'm not sure if the brand it still available. But it was great to be able to take out such nice clothing from my wardrobe as I never get to leave the house all dressed up. So I felt a bit like a princess!
The colour on the right

photo's go to Citra's lovely blog here : )

After much deliberation I chose Sportsgirls “Bombshell” (Pictured right) on my lips. It was a light, bright red and though it was a bit out of my comfort zone, there was no lipstick malfunctions and as it turned out, I really like the colour! I wore this with a nice classy make-up look paired with winged eyeliner and straightened hair that I curled towards the ends and flipped over my shoulder. I was also super excited as I wore a Forever 21 bracelet my close friend gave to me for my 18th!
Pictured; the forever 21 bracelet

For once I was actually ready on time! My dad proudly escorted my to the main room where little horderves(is that really how it's spelt?!) were served and the atmosphere was lovely. You know that saying about feeling like a million dollars? well I felt that way that night. I had conversations with many interesting and inspiration people, that weren't just from Australia. That's what made the experience so different! They told me all about their take on art and of Monet. It's like that night I got introduced to  a new culture! and the whole experience was just, great!
The works! Oh the works were brilliant. I don’t get to see much art often, but maybe its because I’m much more interested in the history of the art, and the person behind it. But the change to peruse to my own will, Monet’s allusions and how an artist see’s the world was much to my taste! If you have the chance, please, please do go see it!

I don’t want to ruin the whole experience for those who have yet to see it, there are some unique hands on parts of the little journey and my description will not be enough to describe how amazing the experience of this was, so I guess you’ll just have to go see it yourself! But I must say my favourite part was the very end of the walk where there was a dark room and chairs, and a giant screen that went from the side of the room, to the other. They played calming sounds of Monet’s little house and showed the inside and the beautiful gardens that it is surrounded by. It’s so difficult to explain because the cinematography and the execution of this was simply perfection!
Oh and did I mention the little goody bags? Though, I think these were the classiest I ever saw! Complete with a little Monet miniature and a French Candle, the little surprise at the end of the night simply made it a magical night to remember with my Dad!

Have you seen Monet, attended the exhibition or is there any that you would recommend?!

I just looked up the dates and the exhibition closes on the 8th of September at the NGV (National Gallery of Victoria)

One Year After (A Happy Day)

I just got home. I have never been more happily exhausted in my life. 'Why?!' you ask!
Well 365 (Or correctly according to my boyfriend 366) days ago, a friendship of mine blossomed in to a beautiful - I'm going to stop there before people start cringing at the apparent cheesy-ness. But you get the point.

So anyways, the first is only great for this reason. The negatives are the cold, gloomy weather and the fact that on our anniversary it was the first of April...We, both times have actually taken no notice of that.

Fluffy Egg Bath Ballistic : Retails at Australian Lush stores $5.50
The Carrot Bubble Bar : $8.90
So we start of the day by heading in to Lush, where I bought the highly esteemed Easter goodies! (Pictured Below)

Followed by a looooooong trip to the Royal Botanic Gardens where I received my gorgeous gift and where my boyfriend opened his.

We spent ages trying to re-find "Our seat" to no avail.
In hindsight...We were a little camera obsessed today.

Even my New picnic basket & Mittens got their fair-share of the limelight!

The weather was so gloomy. But I found a good clothing-layering-way to keep myself warm.

I also played around with my Sony camera (I'm stating this as it is not an SLR camera) and I discovered that I had a 'Background Defocusing Mode' and that's when my horrible camera skills really came into play. (Don't judge too harshly!)

Le Nails

On my nails I'm wearing Rimmel London's, 60 Seconds, 220 Star Kissed (Pink) and I Heart Lasting Finish 170 Lively Lilac. I found these two colours to be such pretty, feminine colours & for some reason, when I see them I think of Easter!

I wore my hair semi-natural. I actually just grabbed big parts of my hair and wrapped them around a curler, held for a 15 seconds then moved on. I found that this way, gave it a far more natural look.

Happy New Year! -My Resolutions-

The New Year

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

What are your new years resolutions? Comment below! I want to hear about them!

Another year, another  365 days  of unpredictable craziness and another 40 of so weeks left of my last year in High School.

Just passed, another 1st of January when I made resolutions that will be forgotten by February the 1st and will forever be left resolved.

The question, this year, ‘will I make it a resolution this year to fulfill at least one promise I have made to myself?’ And then in fact killing two birds with one stone?

Yes.

There is no reason to make a resolution about food for someone like me. Im not tempted but chocolate, cake, chips/crisps, or sweets of any sort.

And staying away from the minority of junk food that I do enjoy, would never last. Because, when does it ever? (Though the respect I have for people that can, such as my mum, I will forever be in awe!)
So instead I think the basis of this year will be keeping myself and those around me as happy and as for as long as I can possibly make things.

Of course for this,  we must start of with the traditional ‘get healthy’ one.
Though I’m not in any shape or form to be worried about my weight, and excluding any sort of idea of starting a diet. I plan to begin this year by living by the wisdom of Elle Woods.
Exercise gives you endorphins. Endorphins make you happy. Happy people just don't shoot their husbands. They just don't!"In this case for me, ‘doesn’t fail year 12. They just don’t!’

I think starting with at least 30 minutes of  walking or other exercise plus stretching is a good way to start.

Leg selfiess.... always great!

what has also kept me somewhat motivated in past months was the calming exercise of taking photos of plants and such whilst on my daily stroll!

Though, unfortunately, I am not a gifted photographer, I am fairly proud of these photos...Though my camera is to thank...mostly and there is nothing better than to capture beauty, stay calm and stress free while exercising!

Also, to stay mentally healthy, I think I will put to use a well thought out Christmas gift that I received from my parents.

The adorable chistmas-sy box it came in!

When I opened the box I wasn't sure what to expect!
I was pleasantly surprised.

 'Make today HAPPY'

I think it's an important thing to remind oneself of everyday.

Three peg-magnet-thingy's, which I decided that I would use to clip up happy messages around my room!

A lovely ball point pen.
The ink was luckily in black.
(My favourite writing colour)

'Write it down'

I think it's hinting something.

I love this idea! Though I don't believe there is enough for 365's, I think this will defiantly become handy for those unmotivated days!

 The Collection!
I CANNOT EXPLAIN HOW MUCH I ADORE THIS!
 Just a little reminder...
How I have placed it
