Lonely Heart Bubble Bar (Lush Limited Edition) ||MaddyBeautyLove

Lonely Heart Bubble Bar Review

When I think 'Lonely Heart', I can’t think of anything but Marina and the Diamonds’ song Lonely Hearts Club
Though the design is nothing special, it's the essential oils that grabbed my attention. I didn't even smell it before deciding on two for $6.95 each. It is unlike the rest of the range as it is not dominated by tangy floral scents.

It’s refreshing and uplifting with bergamont oil, rose absolute (thought by many to be an aphrodisiac), jasmine absolute and most importantly, lemongrass oil. Which gives it a lemon like aroma and is used in armotherapy as a kind of stress reliever. So I left the bath in high spirits. It is also toning on the skin, which is something I noticed.

I like using bubble bars alongside other bath bombs as I feel like they don’t give my bath enough excitement and the majority of them don't contain the ingredients to give your skin ultra nourishment.

The size of this one is actually quite small – and for last nights bath I couldn’t decided on which bath bomb, so I went without and used the whole bubble bar instead of the usual half.

I was happy with the bubbles that it created, though I notched it didn't take long for them to disappear. But I didn’t use the best method – I always forget to cruble the bubble bar in to the water and then run the water over the top of it.

The bath turned a nice red and with a smaller bath – it would become a nice, deep rich, romantic red. Not a deep purple red, more like red cordial or raspberry jelly. What I loved was the light reflecting on the lustre it was super pretty and absolutely mesmarising. I felt like a kitten chasing a string.

Now to address the lustre. This bubble bar, like the rest of the Valentines Day range contains lustre. I found that this lustre was just an overspray – so if you’re desperate to use it, just rinse it off first right down the sink and your bath will be lustre free.

The scent of Lonely Heart does follow you when you leave the bath and when you softly pat-dry your skin, the scent and the lustre should linger for a good while. Though I always follow my baths with Moisturiser – but there is a slight tanginess that still shines through.

I didn’t find this bubble bar extremely nourishing – something I didn't expect when you study the ingredients, but I still enjoyed the soft water and my skin felt toned when I got out. I didn't find my skin irritated, even the severely dry skin along my shoulders.

I can imagine sharing a romantic bath with a significant other using this bubble bar complete with some wine, dark chocolate and rose petals scattered around – I promise the red colour won't make a man shake in his boots.

Now for bath care! People might be afraid to touch such a bright coloured product from fear that it will turn their bath red.  I can happily say that it does no such thing. Besides the lustre, the bath leaves no trace of a red bubble bar having been in there. Though i have heard of people leaving their bath water in the tub over night and I highly discourage this. What I do is wipe the bath down with a face towel when I let the water out – no fuss!

Recent Instagram Loves #2 ||MaddyBeautyLove

Recent Instagram Loves #2

Last May I uploaded a post "Recent Instagram Loves"with the tag line -

"One thing you will quickly learn about me is that I am an Instagram addict. So, it's no surprise that over time, I have taken photos of products that I can't help but stare at lovingly."

and I thought that this might be a lovely monthly thing for me to do. So let's do the January edition!

Bath of the Night
There are MOTD, MOTN, OOTD, OOTN and now there is BOTN!
I hauled a few products from the Aromatherapy Company in my recent Collective Haul in hopes that it would be a cheaper alternative to the This Works range that is so raved about by bloggers like Vivianna Does Make-up and Lilly Pebbles. I picked up the Essential Oil Blend with Wild Manuka, Lavender and Chamomile - a perfect combination for a peaceful bath and a relaxing sleep. After adding a few drops in to my bath I decided I wanted something with a little more pazzaz so I popped my Lush Shoot for the Stars Bath Bomb in too. It was a visual, scent and textured sensation. I left the bath softly scented like honey, sparkly like Edward Cullen and as calm as a Sloth.

Recent Lush Purchases and Lush Tag
The more you see of my Instagram feed, the more quickly you realise that Lush is a big part of my life and something that I love to share. A lot. This post features a few new products; D'Fluff Shaving Soap (Delicious and strawberry filled), Parsley Porridge face, hand and body wash (sure to be a favourite), the new Self-Preserving Mask of Magnanimity, the Dirty solid perfume, Danger: Cosmetics to Go (an illustrated book about Lush before they were Lush) and their Liquid Lipstick in 'Decisive'.

In this post I also invited people to have their input in to the Lush Tag that I'm currently creating. I'm so excited for sharing my love for Lush with some creative expression. So watch out for that, I'd love to see your answers too.

Keep in tune to my Blog and YouTube for the upcoming reviews!

Pamper Essentials
So by now you might have figured out that I love taking time out to pamper myself, because sometimes time by yourself is what you need to refresh and rejuvenate. I often show my love for my bath products BUT I hardly show my appreciation for the post bath items. For the colder nights I opt for my soft bunny (I think?) Onesie that I purchased in Sainsbury's from my trip in London (Watch my London Vlog to see how unflattering it is). My silky Mulan satin robe is my alternate option for the warmer days. There is no material more comfortable than this robe of freshly bathed skin and lastly my Peter Alexander Cinderella slippers. I was so excited when I found these on sale for $19 instead of the original price of $49-59!

'Not That Kind of Girl' by Lena Dunham
'Not That Kind of Girl' is a collection of essays written by director and actor Lena Dunham. If you've heard of the show Girls, her name might sound familiar. After being on my reading list for a little while, I came across the book in the Metropolis book store that's in the same building as the Rooftop Bar/Cinema. I found the novel very raw and somewhat captivating and the illustrations that are spread through ought the book are gorgeous.

Current 2015 Summer Scent ||MaddyBeautyLove

Current 2015 Summer Scent

One of my favourite things about perfumes is their ability to connect you to a time in your life.
I will always remember Christina Aguilera's debut perfume as my year 7 to 8 perfume of choice to dance around my room to her 2007 "Back To Basics" album.

So which of my Summer Scents are reigning supreme?

 Taylor Swift: Eau de parfum 30 ml

Fruity. Fresh. Floral. Woody. Teens to young adult.

Ms. Swift's third perfume release is a clear separation from the delectable Wonderstruck and Wonderstruck Enchanted perfumes. While their notes tended to be berries, amber and more woody notes, Taylor Swift EDP is suited perfectly for the spring/summer time.

The longevity as an eau de parfum is spectacular. After applying it late this morning, I can still smell it (albeit lightly) at 9.40 PM at night. 10 hours. WOOP! It's the perfect no fuss perfume when it comes to longevity, thats for sure. But, if you felt inclined to enhance this perfume even further, I've seen body lotions, shower gels and even hair mists floating around Myer.

It is definetly one that you don't need to soak yourself in, as the scent is quite pungent and with notes that continue throughout her perfumes (musk, peony, woody notes) there's no wonder I'm so drawn to them.

Scent Notes:

Top notes:
Tangerine, Lychee and Magnolia petals.

Middle notes: Peony, Vanilla Orchid, Hortensia

Base notes: Apricot, sandalwood, chasmere musk.

Secretly, this was a perfume that I didn't like at first, but it soon grew on me. I used to think myself as someone not in to those overly sweet perfumes, but I can now confirm that after a few minutes the top notes (a.k.a the sweetest part) tones down and you get down to the fruity musk type notes. Divine!

Though I've seen some love for this perfume, I've also seen some distaste in the design of the bottle. My opinion? I actually LOVE the design. The classic bottle (it even has its own pearl necklace!) mixed with some modern is something I adore. I would love the bottle just the same if instead of those psychedelic colours it was plain gold, however it would lose a little of it's loud summer vibe!

This is the scent that I feel best encompasses those summer adventures out of my collection.

I also discuss this perfume in my January Favourites and in my February Empties Video.

I'd love to know your current summer love! Comment below!

GRWM\\Work||MaddybeautyLove

GRWM\\WORK

Struggling with the lack of inspiration to pick up my camera, a video fell in to my lap after my friends showed interest in aspects of my work-do on Instagram and in conversation.

So I should start by saying that I am currently employed at Lush as a Christmas Temp (ah!), which means of course the product list is majority Lush!

If you've ever been in to a Lush, there are the bare-faced beauties and the loud and proud Mademoiselles (or monsieur's)! On the in-between is where I like to sit. I've settled with the red lip and black eyeliner look with a natural skin finish. Though after converting almost completely to Lush's skincare, I've not actually needed to use any foundation whatsoever. Insane!

Recent Instagram Loves #1 ||MaddyBeautyLove

My Recent Instagram Loves

One thing you will quickly learn about me is that I am an Instagram addict. So, it's no surprise that over time, I have taken photos of products that I can't help but stare at lovingly.

My Instagram is @Nice_N_Spiffy

Lush's Rockstar Soap
A product that I raved about in a recent video, in which you can see how clearly I love it. Lush really do know how to create some darn fantastic soaps! I honestly cannot get enough of their Rockstar Soap, which carries the same scent as their Snow Fairy Shower Gel (a Christmas Exclusive). But basically, this soap smells how a Fairy Floss Care Bear would smell. Creamy with a good mix of candy and fairy floss. An amazing scent that will follow you out the shower, which I don't find in any other shower product. It has lasted me weeks upon weeks. This I award to the action of putting it is a used Lush pot (pictured), in order to keep it away from water and other bathroom elements. I definitely recommend this soap!

You can find this block of yumminess at any Lush store, for $6.95 per 100g.

My too-frequent naughty breakfasts
When I'm feeling like I need to be treated lavishly, I don't hesitate to chop up some strawberries, banana's and some poor crushed Freddo's with my oat cereal. I've never had such fun with breakfast in my life, it definitely mixes things up and makes me look forward to eating. It also tastes like heaven!

Original Source Mint and Tea Tree Hand Wash 240 ml
Mint and tea tree, need I say more? Firstly it smells amazing, it has a tingly, clean effect on your hands and it lathers up amazingly! The downside? I'm nearly out!

You can find this one in supermarkets and chemists from prices ranging from $4.00 - 4.39.

Revlon Colourburst Matte Balm in Standout 2.7g
A drugstore gem that took me by surprise after picking it up for $10 when it was on sale. I can now declare that Standout is by far my favourite red. It's the kind that makes your teeth look white and makes you feel like a 1950's bombshell. It has the pigmentation and the lasting power of a high-end lip product. It applies as a bright red, but the more you layer it, the darker it will become, making it perfect for the day and the night.

You can find this product at any Priceline and Chemist Warehouse for $17.95

I'd love to follow you on Instagram, leave your names down below!

Here We Go Again.||MaddyBeautyLove

Gimme That Smile, I haven't Seen In A While.

Hello all!

 I hope you still remember me! After all this time, I thought it was time to get those laptop keys, and my writing mind working again. So here I am! As you will find, the time between this post and my last is too long.

So what have I been up to? Well firstly, I knuckled down on my YouTube schedule. I am currently uploading every Thursday and Sunday (though the time varies every week). Secondly, the roller coaster of finishing my first semester of University, with the stress of major assignments stopped my ability to write and finally, HOLIDAYS! I got caught right up with fun things like work, housework, make-up free days and living on Instagram.You can take a peek of some of the things I got up to on this Vlog and this Vlog, I hope you find my awkward self entertaining enough!
But I'm back! Back for good…I hope.

What's coming up, you may ask. This week I will be uploading a video-to-blog collaboration with the lovely Courtney, where we tackle our Top 10 Under 10 and the Top 5 Under 5 beauty products. So keep a look out for that!

Well I have been working on my Disneyland blogpost, in conjunction to my Disneyland Vlog. A post, which will feature stories and pictures that didn't make it on the video.I also cannot wait to welcome back Spring in September, so there will be many ootd’s, motd’s and Top Spring Lip Picks.I can’t wait to get started! I hope you keep in touch.

I Didn't Forget You! ||MaddyBeautyLove

Being bored in class today, I thought I'd check out if I had neglected any drafted posts…it turns out that I've neglected four! Quatre! So this post is just to say that I haven't forgotten about your guys yet and to remind myself to get my head back in the game! (That will be the first and last HSM reference I promise). But I'm back again! Or at least I am going to try.

So very soon you will see from me, a Lush review/Haul (Australian and America), an Empties review, Make-up/Beauty haul and another product review. YAY!

I've posted some videos on my YouTube since my last blog post, feel free to check them out in the mean time (or any time)! Oh and stay tuned! I have a very special tutorial coming up soon. (Hint, hint; the photo below! Can you guess what it is?!)
